Dropshipping Apps are online software that integrates with eCommerce stores and automates dozens of daily tasks required to run a profitable dropshipping business. This includes finding products from Dropship Suppliers, importing them to your store with ease, fulfilling customer orders, providing shipment tracking information, keeping a record of inventories, providing in-depth analytics and various other features that let you completely automate your dropshipping business. While you can also run a dropshipping store without a dropshipping app. it takes lots of time and effort. Having a Dropshipping app not only automates your store but also helps you grow your business with in-depth analytics and researching tools.
What is Dropified?
Dropified, previously known as Shopified is a Dropshipping app created by two fellow Dropshippers. 5 Years ago it was a simple chrome extension that let sellers import products from Aliexpress to their store with a click of a button.
Back then Dropified was the only solution for Dropshippers to import products from Aliexpress to their store. Since then a lot of things have changed in the dropshipping industry and Dropified kept on adding new features to their pool.
Dropified which was started as a simple chrome extension has now evolved as an all in one Solution for Dropshipping merchants. Starting from product research and product import to automatically fulfilling orders and growing your business with in-depth analytics. Dropified became a complete solution.
What is Oberlo?
Oberlo is a dropshipping app made for the eCommerce platform Shopify. in 2017, Shopify itself acquired Obelo and now it is a Shopify Subsidiary.
This Dropshipping App lets you find products, add them to your store and ship it to your customer with ease. They work as a bridge between sellers and Aliexpress suppliers. In addition to helping dropshippers to source products from Aliexpress suppliers, Oberlo also has its own supply chain where sellers can directly source products from Oberlo.
Like Dropfied, Oberlo also includes some of the most important features, But differs in some areas. Let’s inspect their features and see how it differs.
Common Features: Dropified vs Oberlo
Before we see the differences, let’s take a look at what they have in common. The following features are available in both these Dropshipping apps.

Dropified Features that Oberlo Lacks
We saw what they have in common. Now let us see how they differ. These are the features Dropified have which cannot be found in Oberlo or comes with less power.
Platforms Supported
As I have already mentioned, Oberlo is an App made for the eCommerce platform Shopify. Also, it is now a Shopify subsidiary after it was acquired by Shopify in 2017. As you may have guessed by now, it only works with Shopify.
On the other hand, Dropified is an independent App/Company which supports various eCommerce platforms. in fact they support all the major platforms including Shopify.
At the time of publishing this article, Dropified integrates with Shopify, Woocommerce, Bigcommerce, Groovekart and Commerce HQ. They are consistently working on adding more platforms to their App and can expect them to work with other new platforms soon.
Whereas Oberlo will only work with Shopify and it will remain the same.
Product Sourcing
Oberlo works only with Aliexpress. Whereas Dropified supports Aliexpress, Amazon, eBay, Wallmart, Etsy plus many other sources to find suppliers and source products from them.
This is one of those most important features that Oberlo lacks and Dropified offers. Allowing Dropshippers to source products from sources like Amazon and Wallmart automatically allows them to offer better quality products and faster shipping methods as most of the suppliers in these sources are from the United States and other European countries.
Oberlo only works with Aliexpress, you are limited to Chinese suppliers.
Number of Products
Oberlo allows you to import up to 500 products to your store with the free plan and 10,000 products with their basic plan. With Dropified you can import up to 15,000 products to your store with their Builder (Basic) plan.
Both apps add a restriction on how many products you can add to your store. Dropified wins this by an inch.
Staff Accounts
You can have up to 5 staff accounts with the Dropified basic plan. If you want to have more than one account to access your store and manage products with Oberlo, you should purchase their Pro plan.
Aliexpress Product Research Tools
Dropified has an inbuilt research tool which makes finding winning products on Aliexpress much easier. Something that it’s competitor doesn’t have.
Automatic Order Placing
Select multiple orders at once and click a button to fulfill. Dropified will then fulfill orders in the background one after the other. This feature is going to save you the most time and money. It also has a CAPTCHA solver that solves Aliexpress and other sites CAPTCHA when fulfilling orders.
Importing Product Reviews from Aliexpress
With Dropified you can simply import customer reviews for the products on Aliexpress and add it to your store as your own. It’s all built in the App.
On the other hand with Oberlo, you need to install a third-party review app from the Shopify app store to import reviews. which will cost you an additional monthly fee.
Auto Placing Orders for Bundled Products
A customer may order many products from your store. each of these products may be sourced from different suppliers. so how do you go about fulfilling these bundle orders?
Dropified comes to save you. It will now also fulfill bundle product orders automatically in the background.
With Oberlo you should order one product after the other from suppliers when it comes to bundled product orders.
Advanced Image Editor
Easily add images, edit it inside the app and push it to your store. This comes handy when you want to add some filters and/or remove any copyright watermarks on the image. You can also add your own watermarks for images and make your site and the product look more branded.
Oberlo fails to offer this.
Multiple Store Integration
One Dropified account will work with multiple eCommerce stores. You can sync products and manage all your stores with one Dropified account.
With Oberlo you need to have separate accounts for each store which doesn’t look cool.
Google Products Feed
Easily upload products to Google’s merchants center. Then the world’s largest search engine will display your products to online shoppers. Again something Oberlo doesn’t have
Finding Youtube Videos to Advertise
A free Tubehunt account will allow you to search and find videos on youtube for your products. You can use these videos in your store or for marketing purposes if allowed.
Free Toll-Free US Phone Number
Dropified works with Callflex to get you a US toll-free number completely free of charge. You can use this number for customer service. All your phone calls will go through the browser without having to buy a second phone line.
A dedicated phone number will definitely improve your credibility as an eCommerce business and improves your conversion rate.
Oberlo Features that Dropified Lacks
Now, let’s take a look at what Oberlo offers that Dropified doesn’t. The following features are not available in Dropified or only available in their most expensive monthly plan (Premium Plan).
Profit Dashboard
Oberlo shows you the order details, cost of goods sold and the profit generated in a beautifully designed profit dashboard. This gives you a clear picture of your business and where it is headed. Dropified also includes this feature. But saves it for their premium package while it’s competitor offers this for free.
Own Product Supply
Oberlo has its own product marketplace with products from selected suppliers. This allows you to source a wide range of products from various suppliers within Oberlo and dropship them using Oberlo App. These are handpicked suppliers working with Oberlo who can be trusted to deliver.
Available in Shopify App Store
If you have a Shopify store, you can install Oberlo from the Shopify App Store and start dropshipping in minutes. If you have any issues, you can easily contact Oberlo support or Shopify support and get it fixed.
On the other hand, Dropified is a third-party app not available in the Shopify App Store.
Pricing Comparison: Dropified vs Oberlo
Both Apps has a Free trial. Dropified gives you 14 days of free trial to test their software. Oberlo provides a Free starter package which restricts the number of products that can be imported to 500 and some of the most needed features.
Pricing Plans Monthly
- Dropified cheapest plan, Builder costs $47 per month and the premium plan costs $127 per month.
- Oberlo’s cheapest plan, Basic costs $29.90 per month and their Pro Plan costs $79.90 per month.
If Paid annually, Dropified Builder costs $468 per year saving you $96 of the monthly plan. And the Premium Plan costs $1164 per year saving you $360 of the monthly plan.
Oberlo doesn’t have an annual payment plan yet.
While Dropified seems costly. when you think of the amount of time and money it saves automating your business. $47 per month is a good deal.
Which is the Best Dropshipping App for Beginners
So you’re new to Dropshipping or eCommerce in general. What should you choose? Is going straight to Oberlo or Dropified paid plan a good move? Will Dropified advance features worth paying when you start?
Well, different users, different uses. If you’re a newbie with a limited budget trying to break into Dropshipping, paying for Dropified might make no sense to you.
What I recommend is, start with Oberlo Free plan or some alternatives that have a Free integration. Test products and try to find a winner that you can scale. once you have the winner, you can upgrade to a premium App like Dropified which offers advance features and can save you time and money spent on virtual assistants.
Final Thoughts
Who wins? Oberlo has a free plan and also a premium plan with more features. but Dropified gives you the most advanced features, tools and automation needed for your business.
If you’re a ninja Dropshipper or a newbie with a good budget to start. I will recommend Dropified.
But If you’re a newbie with a limited budget. Go for the Oberlo Free plan, build your business and once it has a good cash flow, switch to Dropified.
